In order to maintain optimum performance and longevity of your loyal Toyota it’s important to ensure the correct maintenance and servicing is upheld. As these engines age it becomes more critical than ever to love them juuuust the right way.
The maintenance schedule we’ve outlined below is what is recommended by Toyota themselves. This information can be found in the factory Toyota ‘Warranty and Service’ manual, however chances are this little book of history has long departed your humble glove box.

ALL components should be inspected for serviceability at the 5000km interval.
Other consumable components will require replacing depending on their unique serviceability, such as brake pads and rotors. Please keep in mind this is Toyota's recommendations only and individual opinions may vary, for example we choose to replace our oil filter every 5000km with the engine oil.
Recording your servicing and maintenance is just about as important as doing the work itself. It gives you a reliable reference for previous work completed in case you need to look back, and if you’re keeping everything up to date it’s a great selling point for ensuring a decent resale if you ever decide to part ways with your noble steed.
As we mentioned earlier, your factory manual may be long lost or like us, full of information with no more room to spare. Due to this, we have created our own log to keep our records safe.
This is easy to do if you're mildly proficient in Microsoft Word, just knock up some blank tables and label the columns across the top such as the example below:
KM | DATE | DETAILS | MECHANIC |
530 000 | 18/03/23 | ENGINE OIL/FILTER - PENRITE 15W40 | SELF-SERVICE |
If you’re not up on the technology bandwagon and your son/daughter has pissed off to Europe for the summer don't fret, we've added a 20 page downloadable PDF below which you can grab for free and print at home.
